Mouhamed Adir

Senegelese Artist Mouhamed Ndir has been painting professionally for six years. Hi talents have allowed him admittance into the Dakar Village des Arts. young artist joined the arts village in Dakar Senegal four years ago. Mohammed gained invaluable experience at the village observinging young and sesaoned artists. As a visual artist, paints everyday life, he shows me his different canvases; such as the painting above, preparing for the end of the year, an exhibition on the situation of children in Africa. Mouhamed concepts are framed around nature earth colors dominate in his works. They are reminiscent of earth, clay, wood, sand, coffee, tar, cola. There are also different textures, such as grain effects for the wood, water movements for the illustration of rivers or lakes. His work is interesting visually but also on a tactile level. We discover the work as well by the eyes as with the hands. Dou also imitates primitive arts. Looking at these paintings, you can get lost in time, and go back to prehistory. He paints both on leather skins and on wood or canvas.
