Baba Ly

Renowned for his talent, his technical mastery, his accomplished work, his creativity and his almost fusional relationship with the canvas, Baba Ly is an artist of great humility, generosity, humanity and undeniable rigor in his work. Having done his humanities at the workshop of his father (Amadou Dédé Ly), in the village of arts in Dakar, Mahmoud Baba Ly is today one of the most prominent artists in Senegal.For Baba, painting is the reflection of everyday life and has become a passion to depecit his reality he lives and sees on canvas. Hi work posesses various colors and tones that exudes the essence of his paintings. Baba also makes use of earthy colors with brown and beige tones, golden ocher with a light that gives life to his works. In his compositions, he incorporates aesthetic considerations. Looking at baba's paintings, you rarely see the faces of his characturs.
